Zylon® PBO
Zylon® PBO
Zylon® PBO fiber is composed of rigid molecular chains [poly(p-phenylene-2,6-benzobisoxazole)]. These fibers and filaments are characterized by high tensile strength (10 times higher than steel), excellent impact energy absorption (twice that of para-aramid), and exceptional thermal stability (limiting oxygen index of 68). Zylon® PBO fiber is available in chopped fiber, staple fiber, spun yarn, and continuous filament.
