PAN FIBER

Pyromex® is a preoxidized organic fiber with excellent heat and flame resistance. It also has excellent resistance to chemicals and good electric insulation properties. In addition, unlike inorganic fibers, this fiber is processible for yarn spinning and weaving. Pyromex® is widely used for friction materials ( e.g. brake pads ) protective apparel, welding blankets and automotive accessories. Pyromex® is supplied in both tow and staple fiber forms. In most applications, O-Pan fibers are blended with other “high performance fibers” in order to improve overall flammability and abrasion resistance characteristics.
